Fine Arts Pathways

FINE ARTS

The Fine Arts pathways offered in the Effingham County School district are Band, Chorus, Theater Arts, and Visual Arts. Students who select one of these pathways must earn three units from one of these fine arts areas.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

BAND

This pathway develops musical skills, teamwork, and discipline through playing instruments in an ensemble.
 
Courses:  Concert, Advanced Concert*, Symphonic, or Wind Ensemble I;  Concert, Advanced Concert*,

Symphonic, or Wind Ensemble II; Concert, Advanced Concert*, Symphonic, or Wind Ensemble III

CHORUS

This pathway develops musical skills, builds confidence, and allows collaboration with others in a creative environment.

Courses: Women’s, Advanced Women’s* or Mixed Chorus I;  Women’s, Advanced Women’s* or Mixed Chorus II; 
Women’s, Advanced Women’s* or Mixed Chorus III

LOCATIONS: ECHS ∙ SEHS
*Advanced Women’s Chorus only at ECHS.

THEATRE ARTS

This pathway focuses on building acting, directing, and technical skills, as well as
confidence and public speaking abilities.

Courses: Theatre Arts/Musical Theater or Technical Theater I; Theatre Arts/Musical Theater or Technical Theater II; Theatre Arts/Musical Theater or Technical Theater III

LOCATIONS: ECHS ∙ SEHS

VISUAL ARTS

This pathway develops artistic skills, creativity, and critical thinking through mediums such as drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Courses: Visual Arts/Comprehensive I,  Art Course*,  Art Course*

*Art Course Options: Drawing & Painting I & II, Sculpture I & II, Drawing, 2D Design, 3D Design, AP Drawing, AP 2D Design, AP Sculpture, Graphics I-IV, Fibers (ECHS)
