Hello parents and students! I am so excited that we get to begin the school year as initially planned. This will be my 23rd year in the wonderful field of education. I taught 6th grade ELA at Effingham County Middle School my first year of teaching, and then I moved to Effingham County High School, where I taught special education for eighteen years. I decided that I wanted to try being a "stay at home mom", but I missed teaching and have found my way back into the classroom. For the past two years, I have been teaching 8th grade ELA here at Effingham County Middle School. Even though this year has been challenging with the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have a feeling that my third year here at ECMS will be even better than the last two.
I have been married to Loy Graham for twenty-five years, and we have been blessed with three beautiful children. I was born and raised in Effingham County, and my family and I live out in the country near our Turf Farm. After graduating from ECHS in 1994, I attended Georgia Southern University where I obtained my undergraduate degree in Middle Grades Education. I began my teaching career at Effingham County Middle School in 1997, and I am happy to say that I have found my way back to the beginning. It's going to be a great year! Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
