Brief history/work experience
2020 Update: Ms. Shuman is now an Assistant Principal at South Effingham High School

I am originally from Athens, GA, and a HUGE Georgia Bulldog Fan **GO DAWGS!**.

I am a graduate of The Art Institute of Atlanta. Born and raised in Athens, Georgia, and moved to Savannah in 2010. My husband and I live in Richmond Hill, GA with our daughter Rylee.  Rylee will be in First Grade this year at Ebenezer Elementary School.

I LOVE what I do and I love to share my passion with my students here at ECCA.

This is my 14th year teaching Culinary Arts. I moved to the area in 2010 to start the Culinary Arts program here at ECCA. Prior to teaching in Effingham, I taught for three years at Greene County High School in Greensboro, GA, where I was the FCCLA advisor, junior class advisor, and prom coordinator. I have also had the privilege of working as a caterer, cake decorator, baker, and line cook.
  • Trumps Catering--Athens, GA
  • University of Georgia Catering--Athens, GA
  • Bees Knees Bakery--Athens, GA
  • Jennings Mill Country Club--Athens, GA

As you can see, I love all aspects of Culinary Arts. I have a real passion for pastries and cake decorating as well as catering.
