Spring CRCT Scores are In!

Effingham County students are excelling academically, and their hard work was evident with the results of last spring’s Criterion Referenced Competency Test.

Congratulations to Effingham County Middle School, South Effingham Middle School and Ebenezer Middle School students! Middle grade scores were in the top 25% of Georgia’s public middle schools in all content areas on last spring’s Criterion Referenced Competency Test (CRCT). According to Assistant Superintendent Greg Arnsdorff, this is an impressive accomplishment considering that there are over 185 systems in Georgia. In all three grade levels, the science scores were the highest. Arnsdorff gives credit for this to the school board’s decision to fund part of the salary for a middle school science coach. He also believes the high ranking indicates the good return taxpayers are receiving for their investment in the Effingham County School System.

In addition to the outstanding scores in our middle grades, Effingham County students in third and fourth grades also placed in the top 25% in all content areas tested. First, second and fifth grade students scored in the top 25% for the English Language Arts portion of the test.
