ECSD Announces Safeguards to Keep Schools Healthy

The Effingham County School District is closely monitoring updates to COVID-19 information in order to safeguard the health of our students, employees, and community at large. Principals have been advised to promote precautionary measures among staff and students including, but not limited to, the importance of regular handwashing. Plans are underway to professionally disinfect all classrooms in each of our schools, and bathrooms are being checked to ensure each has an adequate supply of antibacterial soap. School nurses at each school site are maintaining vigilance over the health of students and staff and educating clinic visitors on the prevention of spreading germs.

In addition to the aforementioned school site measures, our district is committed to taking appropriate steps based on the regularly updated information provided by the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  Information from each organization may be accessed at:

-        https://dph.georgia.gov/novelcoronavirus (DPH information)
-        https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html (CDC information).

The following link, posted on our district website, also includes helpful information about the virus and what can be done to help prevent its spread: https://www.effinghamschools.com/Page/34316.

As always, families will receive updates via email, the school district’s Facebook page, the district website, and local media outlets.

Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for working alongside us to ensure their health and safety!
