Flu Kickoff 2019

ECSD and ECHD Celebrate 10-Year Partnership for Flu Shots

The Effingham County Health Department and the Effingham County School District are happy to celebrate their 10-year partnership for ensuring our students have the opportunity to receive flu shots annually. Dr. Randy Shearouse, Superintendent, started off this year’s 10th anniversary celebration today by getting his flu shot during the kick-off event held at South Effingham Elementary!

The Effingham County Health Department has administered more than 22,000 flu shots since this initiative began ten years ago. This is particularly important given that school-aged children are highly susceptible to the flu. Our school district understands the importance of protecting students from this preventable virus and is happy to help ensure students are vaccinated each year. The Effingham County School District is grateful to work alongside our health department and district families to ensure our children are healthy in mind and body both now and for years to come!
