New School District Information

The Effingham County School System has experienced accelerated growth in the past several years. With this growth comes the challenge of taking proactive measures to maintain quality educational opportunities for students across the community. In an effort to balance our elementary and middle school student populations, the Effingham County School District is considering a proposal to modify the current school district lines across the county.

We realize the decision to redistrict will impact many of our families, and we want to ensure we provide sufficient opportunities to engage in constructive dialogue to discuss these proposed changes. Effingham County parents/guardians are, therefore, invited to attend one or all of three public hearings to review the proposed district changes. The scheduled meetings are as follows:

  • Effingham County Middle School: Thursday, November 16th at 6PM

  • Ebenezer Middle School: Wednesday, January 3rd at 5:30PM

  • South Effingham Middle School: Thursday, January 18th at 6PM

Maps of the proposed districts will be available at each of the elementary and middle schools beginning this Tuesday, November 14th. Each school’s principal will notify parents how to review the maps and will gladly take any questions regarding individual concerns.

Parents/guardians may review their proposed attendance zone by accessing (this link). Once the link is accessed, please enter your residential address as well as your student’s grade level for the 2018-2019 school year.
