ECHS Students Attend Future Georgia Educators Day

Last Thursday, September 28th, Effingham County High School student members of the TAP Pathway (Teaching as a Profession) and the FGE Club (Future Georgia Educators) attended Future Georgia Educators Day at Georgia Southern University.  These 26 ECHS students enjoyed a number of opportunities including workshops involving hands on teaching strategies, a speech from Georgia Teacher of the Year- Ernie Lee, a college fair with information from representatives from various colleges across Georgia, a delicious lunch in the GSU dining hall, and a wonderful tour of the Georgia Southern campus.

This experience has given participating students a closer look at the teaching profession and the many rewards that come with it. FGE Club President and TAP student, ZyQuez Dukes said, "It was such a powerful experience being able to network and collaborate with other TAP students from various counties in Georgia. The seminars and speakers helped plant the seeds for our knowledge as future educators to blossom and grow!"
