  • What's happening at ECCA, Jan 30 - Feb 3, 2023.

    Good evening, ECCA Knights! This is Dr. Nesmith with what is happening at ECCA for the week of Jan. 30 - Feb. 3, 2023. 

    • Chick Fil A Chicken Biscuits will be sold every Wednesday for $4. You can pay by cash or credit card.  Please support our school's clubs/organizations.

    • Herff Jones will be on campus on Wednesday, Feb. 1 to accept order forms for class rings and letterman jackets. Ring packets are available in the front office. We are very excited about the opportunity for our ECCA STEM students to have an ECCA Knight on the side of their class rings this year!

    • ECCA Yearbooks are now on sale. Please visit Balfour.com to order your ECCA Yearbook. Yearbook sales will end this Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

    • Senior Parent Reminder: If you purchased an ECCA Senior Ad for your student, you have until March 3, 2023 to complete the ad at Balfour.com.

    • AP Human Geography students, your AP exam registration and payment are due to Mrs. Center no later than February 2. 

    • AP Students - Just a reminder…final payments are due to Mrs. Center by February 2nd.  

    • Any TSA member interested in going to the State Conference, please see Mr. Parker to get all the information needed to make your decision. Also, don't forget to turn in your $100 registration fee by or before Feb 7th. Do not wait until the last minute to start working on your competitions. Those who have not spoken face to face with Mr. Parker about his/her competitions will not be allowed to compete.

    • ECCA HOSA: Students interested in participating in the State Leadership Conference should see Ms. Platt or Google Classroom for information. Registration deadline is this Thursday, Feb. 2nd. 

    • ECCA FFA has kicked off their spring fundraiser campaign.  We are selling strawberries and gourmet quality nuts (there are several varieties).  All orders and payments are due 2/14 and delivery is scheduled for March 6-10.  We will know a more exact date when we place the order.  FFA members who are not in Dr. Arrington's class this semester will need to come see her to get an order form 

    • Current STEM Freshmen and Sophomores, we will have a parents' night this Thursday, February 2nd at 6:30.  We will be discussing registration and dual enrollment for next school year.

    • ECCA HOSA and One Blood will be sponsoring a Blood Drive on Friday, February 10, 2023.  Must be 16 years old, 100lbs and healthy to donate.If you are 16 you will need a signed parental consent form.  These can be found in the front office or in Ms. Renfroe's class.  Please sign up for a time at oneblood.org/donate-now.  Use sponsor code 33878.

    • The 2023 Georgia Scholar Program application window is now open. Georgia public or private high school seniors who meet the eight criterion categories may complete the application, provided they are scheduled to graduate in spring 2023 and obtain signatures from their principal, school counselor, and parent or guardian. The 2023 Georgia Scholar Program application is due by 5 p.m. on February 10, 2023.     • If you need to request a certificate of enrollment for a driver's license, please sign up at the front office. The cost is $5,  cash or check. 

    • STEM students, start planning for our trip in November of 2024.  We will be going to Universal Studios on November 3rd - 4th, where we will be doing a fun and exciting educational program.  Go to www.kellytours.com and enter trip number 17070.  Spots are limited, so sign up early.

    • Attention all 9th and 10th grade SEHS-STEM students.  SEHS will host Teen Maze on Tuesday, February 28th.  Teen Maze is a tool designed to help teens see firsthand the consequences of their life choices. Volunteers will interact with teen participants in a fun and creative way to convey important and vital information related to a variety of issues. The ultimate goal is high school graduation. Students will be given a pre-survey to determine their knowledge of the  issues they may experience. They will also be given a post-survey to determine what they have learned. School Social Workers and counselors will be available to assist students with processing their experiences through the maze.  Information flyers/Permission slips will be distributed to SEHS STEM students (9th and 10th grade) this week, and are due back to Mr. Smith no later than Friday, February 10th.  Key staff members will accompany students to SEHS.  For more questions, please see Mr. Smith.

    • February 17th - 20th is the Global Backyard Bird Count! This fun, family-oriented event is where you document the birds that live in your neighborhood using the free app eBird. The rules are simple; stay in one spot for 15 minutes and record what birds you hear and see. This is a great citizen science opportunity for scouts and other groups looking to be outdoors.     • Students, as a reminder, school begins at 7:30.  This is what time you are to be in your zero period classroom.  For student drivers, please do not hang out in the parking lot and lose track of time.  Once you arrive at school, you should proceed on into the building to begin your day.

    • Save the date! Our first ever "Taste of the Knight" will be on Fri, March 10th, from 6 to 8 pm. More information to follow.
