Parents of SEHS Students:
All students who are attending SEHS face-to-face classes will need a Chromebook or laptop that can be brought to school every day. If possible, parents are encouraged to purchase a Chromebook for your child; however, SEHS will provide school-issued Chromebooks to parents who request it.
For parents who wish to purchase your own Chromebook, the district offers Computer Purchasing Guidance if you need help selecting a device. Please note that per handbook policy, the school assumes no responsibility or liability for lost or damaged personal devices if brought to school.
For parents who would like to request a school-issued Chromebook, please fill out THIS FORM as soon as possible. Chromebooks/laptops will be distributed during the first week of school, on a first-come-first-served basis, and supplies are not guaranteed. Please read the Chromebook/Laptop Acceptance Form carefully; note that you are agreeing to be charged $275 for any device that is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair. Furthermore, $50 will be charged to cover repairs for broken keyboards, screens, or charging cables.
Please note that this announcement does not apply to students who are signed up for ECSD’s Virtual Option. The district website contains information on devices for Virtual Option students.

Emancipation Diploma Bill Process
On Monday, March 30, 2015 Governor Nathan Deal signed the Emancipation Diploma Bill (HB 91) into law. This law means that students who completed school at an Effingham County School System high school and have previously met all graduation requirements with the exception of passing the Georgia High School Graduation Tests (GHSGT) or the Basic Skills Tests can petition to be granted a diploma.
Petitioners should complete an application available on the district website (click here) or in person at the Effingham County Board of Education office at 405 N. Ash St., Springfield GA. There is no deadline for submission of a petition, so applications are being continuously accepted and reviewed. Petitioners should allow three to four weeks for completion of the review process.
Further questions may be directed to Mrs. Wendy Porter at 912-754-5508.
