The Effingham County School District is proud to announce that three local elementary schools—Springfield Elementary School, Sand Hill Elementary School, and Rincon Elementary School—have been officially named 2026 Georgia Title I Distinguished Schools by the Georgia Department of Education.
This prestigious state recognition places all three schools among the top 5% of all Title I schools in Georgia for overall academic performance, based on combined English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics scores from the FY25 school year.
"We are incredibly proud of the students, faculty, staff, and leadership at Springfield Elementary, Sand Hill Elementary, and Rincon Elementary for earning this exceptional honor," said Superintendent Yancy Ford. "To have three of our elementary schools recognized in the top 5% across the entire state is a powerful testament to the hard work of our students, the relentless dedication of our educators, and the support of our parents and community. This achievement reinforces our commitment to providing a top-tier education for every child in Effingham County."
Title I Distinguished Schools are recognized for demonstrating high academic achievement while serving significant populations of economically disadvantaged students. The sustained progress in both ELA and Math at Springfield, Sand Hill, and Rincon Elementary highlights the district's effective instructional strategies and commitment to student success.
