Effingham Cognia STEM Showcase Day

The Cognia STEM Showcase was a powerful day of professional learning and inspiration for educators and leaders across the region! 🌿🔬💡

The day began at the Honey Ridge Agricenter, where participants heard an insightful presentation and overview from South Effingham Middle School, a Cognia STEM-Certified School. Presenters included Brandi Bonorato (STEM Coordinator), Lisa Grassi (Assistant Principal), and Christy Brown (Principal).

Following the presentation, attendees explored the STEM Outdoor Classroom and observed engaging STEM Rotations in action—highlighting the innovative, hands-on learning taking place at SEMS.

The showcase continued at the Effingham College and Career Academy, where two ECCA STEM students delivered an impressive presentation on STEM opportunities at the academy. Participants then visited classrooms to observe STEM instruction in real time.

Throughout the day, attendees gained valuable insight into the Cognia STEM Certification process, learning how to align their own programs with Cognia’s rigorous standards and drive excellence in STEM education.
