The Effingham County School District is proud to recognize Dr. Yancy Ford, Superintendent of Effingham County Schools, for his outstanding leadership as the 2024–2025 Campaign Chair for United Way of the Coastal Empire.

Under Dr. Ford’s guidance and the campaign theme “Educate, Elevate, Unite,” the United Way campaign raised a projected $9 million to support individuals and families across the region. This remarkable effort demonstrates the power of community collaboration and the deep commitment of local leaders to improving lives.

“This has been an incredible experience, and I’m deeply grateful for everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s campaign,” said Dr. Ford. “Throughout this campaign, we asked everyone in the Coastal Empire to unite together to improve lives in our region — and our community delivered.”

Of the total funds raised:

• $4.9 million will support United Way’s Community Fund, which provides resources for more than 80 essential programs across 50+ nonprofit organizations.

• $1.2 million came from workplace and individual giving.

• $2.9 million was generated from grants, disaster relief, and other special funds.

These contributions will support services such as:

• Emergency assistance through United Way’s County Service Centers and 211 helpline

• Early childhood literacy initiatives like Read United

• Volunteer programs that strengthen community engagement

Dr. Ford’s role in leading this campaign reflects his dedication not only to education but also to the well-being of families throughout Effingham County and the greater Coastal Empire region. His leadership is an inspiration to students, staff, and the entire community.
