Congratulations to Our 2026 Georgia Scholar Winners!

The Georgia Department of Education is recognizing 162 graduating seniors across Georgia as 2026 Georgia Scholars, State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced.

Through the Georgia Scholar program, GaDOE identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. Each honoree receives a seal for their diploma along with a graduation cord to recognize their achievement.

"Congratulations to the 162 students recognized as Georgia Scholars this year," Superintendent Woods said. "These students exemplify excellence in academics, leadership, and service. I'm proud to celebrate their achievements and confident they will continue making a positive difference in their communities and beyond."

Among those honored are four outstanding students from the Effingham County School District, representing South Effingham High School and ECCA STEM:

  • Meredith Clontz
  • Carson Foskey
  • Addison Fratino
  • Riley McMillan

Georgia Scholars carry exemplary course loads throughout their four years of high school, demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, actively participate in school and community activities, and serve as leaders in extracurricular and service organizations.

The full list of 2026 Georgia Scholars, organized by school district and high school, is available online. The Georgia Department of Education coordinates the Georgia Scholar program in partnership with local school districts and schools.
