Parent Mentor (Exceptional Students)

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I hope your family had a fun, restful summer! I am beginning my 11th year as a Parent Mentor in Effingham County School District. My office is based at Central Office Board of Education (405 N. Ash Street, Springfield, GA 31329).

I am available each Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 - 4:00 PM.

I hope you will reach out to let me know how I may be of assistance. I look forward to working with you in small groups this year, as well as sharing information, events, and resources to support you. Be on the lookout for Coffee Chats and/or Cookies for Caregivers invites!!

How can a parent mentor help me?

Parent mentors offer support to families of exceptional students in areas such as IEP navigation, community resource connection, benefits access, behavior support strategies, promoting self-determination, and planning for life after high school.
