Warm Words of Welcome From Our Administrators
Charlotte V. Connelly, Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Hello to all my parents, students and community members. I would like to begin by telling everyone how proud I am to be a Guyton Gator. We continue to move forward in large strides and improvements in all areas of academics with the Georgia Standards of Excellence. For the second year in a row, GES has been named a High Progress School for the state of Georgia. My teachers and staff members work hard each and every day to meet the large range of student needs. Through dedication and hard work, our students are making the progress needed to be successful.
Our school services students Pre-K through 5th grades. Our schedule supports uninterrupted instructional time in the core classes which include language arts, math, science and social studies, as well as including an intervention/extension (I/E) period for each grade level. This schedule will ensure time for remediation and lesson extensions for every child according to his/her needs. Teachers are working together across the grade levels to better differentiate instruction for all of our students.
In coordination with our schedule, we continue to incorporate the standards to educate your children. GES teachers and administrators will work collaboratively to continue to implement these standards with creative skill-specific lessons and use various assessments to monitor student progress. Our staff will be focusing on ensuring we have a climate that ensures your children success through our PBIS program which focuses on being safe, respectful and responsible.
As principal, I would like you to know Guyton Elementary is not only a community school but a safe place for students to learn and grow. We are a TEAM! Everyone here is working together to make a difference in the life of our children. Thank you and have a terrific year!!
