Ms. Amie Dumont

Hello! I am so excited to be a new teacher at South Effingham Elementary School! I am originally from Massachusetts. I have also lived in New Hampshire and Colorado. I received a Bachelor's Degree from Lesley University and this will be my thirteenth year teaching special education. I have taught high school, middle school and elementary school levels.  I have had extensive experience working with students that have specific learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome and intellectual disabilities. When I lived in NH I worked as a case manager for adults with disabilities where I created and facilitated a brain Injury support group.  I moved to Georgia in 2019 and have worked in Bryan County as well as Chatham County Public School Systems. I have a passion for advocating for children who learn differently and make it a priority to build positive relationships with my students. I am the proud mother of two grown girls and have two grandsons!
