Ms. Tracy Spain

Welcome to Ms. Spain's classroom!  I am delighted to be your 8th-grade math teacher this year.  My love for mathematics, combined with my zest for life equals a powerful classroom dynamic where students feel welcome and comfortable.  I can find joy in everyday occurrences, and even solving for x can be bundles of fun.  You'll see!  I take complicated math processes and break them down into manageable steps so my students can follow along and eventually implement them independently.  The students of Ebenezer Middle School are about to discover for themselves that math can be satisfying!

I was born and raised in Gwinnett County, Georgia.  I grew up cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and I got to attend some of the 1996 Olympic events when I was in middle school.  After graduating from Parkview High School, I attended Georgia Southern University, earning my undergraduate degree in Secondary Math Education.  My first eight years of teaching took place at Oneida High School in rural East Tennessee.  When life brought me back to the Peach State, I taught four years of 8th-grade math (Algebra I and Pre-Algebra) at Effingham County Middle School.

Outside of school, I am a busy mom.  My daughter, Rachel, attends Blandford Elementary school and loves to sing!  She and I enjoy traveling, Georgia Southern football, gardening, and being silly.  You can often find me reading a good book, visiting friends and family, completing the daily Wordle, or enjoying the great outdoors.
