Welcome to fifth grade at Guyton Elementary! My name is Rhonda Ballard and I am so excited about teaching your child Math, Science, and Social Studies this year.

My teaching pathway is non-traditional. I graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. I worked in the accounting field for 20 years. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, so I decided it was time to pursue my dream. I began my teaching career at Guyton Elementary in February 2022. I will be pursuing my master’s degree in elementary education.

My husband and I have been married for almost 26 years. We have two boys, Garren (20) and Gavin (19). We moved from Chatham County making Effingham County our home in 2009. Our sons attended Blandford Elementary, Ebenezer Middle, and graduated from Effingham County High School in 2020 and 2021. Garren was on the track and cross county team at Effingham County High School. Gavin was a member of the Rebel Regiment Marching Band all four years of high school. Both boys attend Savannah Technical. They also work in public safety just like their dad.
