Wednesday,  Aug. 5 is our first day back to school at ECCA. I want to share a few reminders for starting back.

• Please be sure to check your child’s schedule prior to tomorrow to be sure you have the most up to date version as schedule changes have occurred since the release of schedules. Students will only have the first  5 days for schedule changes.

• There will be numerous papers coming home to you. Please take some time and review all of the paperwork. Several sheets need to be signed and returned to the school.

• Please also help us to support the county policy for dress code. The dress code policy is in the handbook. We want to start back to school on our best foot. All students must have a clear or mesh bookbag. All shirts must be tucked into shorts or pants. During the summer months, I noticed a lot of colored hair and mohawks. You will need to remove that color and no mohawks are allowed in Effingham schools. Please make sure your child is dress code compliant before the first day of school. 

• Drinks reminder: Students may drink water in their classrooms, but it must be in a clear container. We have water bottle filler stations in the school for the students' use.

• We encourage students to wear a mask at school.

• Students may enter the building at 6:45am through the main entrance. They will remain seated with social distancing in the cafeteria. A new bell will ring at 7:10 for students to report to 0 period to avoid the large crowd in the cafeteria.

• There will not be a microwave in the cafeteria for sanitary reasons. Please make sure that your student's lunch can be consumed without being heated.

• Encourage your student to use the hand sanitizer stations throughout the school and wash their hands regularly, and we will do the same.

• The end staircase will be used only to go down this year so students won't pass on the narrow stairwell.

• Students may not use the touchpad to enter their numbers at lunch. They will be given a lunch card and are encouraged to take a picture of it to be scanned as they purchase lunch each day.

• If your child received a Chromebook contract during the drive through, please return it signed the first day of school to receive a Chromebook. Students without contracts will be given a contract Wednesday to take home to be signed.

• Senior Last First Day Breakfast at 7:30am on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
