Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and rasied in a small town in South Georgia. Cordele, my hometown, is the watermelon capital of the world! My grandparents were farmers and grew delicious, sweet watermelons every summer. My mom was the first person in her family to go to college and she became a teacher. Education was one of the most important things in our family. When I was eighteen I moved to Athens to attend the University of Georgia. I graduated with a degree in Secondary Social Sciences. My first job teaching was in an even smaller town than Cordele. You could have a parent conference night if you went to the only grocery store in the county! In 2007, my husband and I moved to Savannah. For the next twelve years, I worked at a middle school, a high school, and a Montessori charter school. It was a lot of fun and I learned a great deal. This is my first year at Sand Hill and I am so excited for the year to come!
