Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amby Stowe, Ed. S

Hi Everyone!  My name is Amby Stowe and I am a Special Education Teacher here at Guyton Elementary School.  This will be my 14th School Year.  Before coming to Guyton Elementary in August 2019, I taught in Chatham County. I am very excited for this school year and I cannot wait work with your kiddo!

I am a Mom and Wife.  My husband, Matt, and I have been married for 14 years and we have two sons.  My oldest son, Josh, will be a High School Senior this year and will graduate in May 2021 from Woodville Tompkins in Chatham County.  My youngest, Parker, is going to be a 6th Grade student at ECMS.  Parker plays travel baseball with Line Drive.  You can usually find us on the ballfield during the weekend cheering him and his teammates on.  My family lives in Pooler, but we hope to move into Effingham County after Josh gradates next summer.

Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be a teacher.  I taught my brother (who is 8 years younger than me) to read simple sentences, write simple words, and solve simple math when he was only 4 years old.  In high school, I volunteered at a tutor my 11th and 12th Grade School Years.  When it came to choosing a college major, there was no doubt in my mind what I would study.  I currently have an Education Specialist in Special Education and plan to return to school one last time to complete my Doctorate (hopefully when Parker begins high school).
