Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amby Stowe, Ed. S
Hi Everyone! My name is Amby Stowe and I am a 4th Grade Teacher here at Guyton Elementary School. This will be my 16th School Year. Before coming to Guyton Elementary in August 2019, I taught in Chatham County. I am very excited for this school year and I cannot wait work with your kiddo!
This will be my first year back in General Education in 14 years. I spent those 14 years teaching Special Education in Collaborative Classrooms and Resource Classrooms. In 2019/2022 and 2021/2022 I taught 4th Grade Resource. I am very happy to be team teaching with Dr. Clayton this school year.
I am a Mom and Wife. My husband, Matt, and I have been married for 17 years and we have two sons. My oldest son, Josh, is studying Computer Science and Art at Georgia Southern University. My youngest, Parker, is going to be an 8th Grade student at ECMS. Parker plays travel baseball Chain Baseball and was selected to play on the ECMS JV Baseball Team last school year. You can usually find us on the ballfield during the weekend cheering or at a SCAD Art Show with my oldest.
Since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be a teacher. I taught my brother (who is 8 years younger than me) to read simple sentences, write simple words, and solve simple math when he was only 4 years old. In high school, I volunteered as a tutor my 11th and 12th Grade School Years. When it came to choosing a college major, there was no doubt in my mind what I would study. While in college I was able to complete a Work Study with the HOSTS (Helping One Student TO Succeed) Program. I currently have an Education Specialist in Special Education and plan to return to school one last time to complete my Doctorate (hopefully when Parker begins high school).
