During the course of each week, all teachers will schedule a minimum of 45 minutes of synchronous lessons and 45 minutes of asynchronous lessons for each class. These times can only occur on the specified class day (A or B) and can be split over the two days.  All synchronous lessons will be recorded during delivery in the event of connectivity concerns or illness of students.

Students will be engaged in asynchronous and synchronous online learning activities.

    • asynchronous - online activities that happen within a student’s schedule without real-time interaction: discussion boards, blogs, recorded lessons, online independent work, online self-paced work, and online lessons without real time interaction with the teacher
    • synchronous - online activities that happen with real-time interaction within a student’s schedule: live chats, live lessons, and online teacher directed lessons that happen in real time (these are recorded during delivery in the event of connectivity concerns or illness of students)

Students may also be engaged in offline independent learning activities. Examples may include, but are not limited to the following: writing in journals independently, completing a written concept map, reading and annotating a text, reading independently, mathematics fact drills, completing mathematics problems using paper/pencil, creating a piece of artwork, completing a lab or experiment, participating in an outside physical activity, and completing outside science activities.
