Hello everyone! My name is Kaitlyn Smith! I am a the 2nd Grade special education teacher here at Guyton Elementary School! This is my 3rd year of teaching. I am super excited for this school year and I cannot wait to work with your student!

I am originally from North Georgia, but moved down to the Savannah area to complete my college degrees. I met a local boy who had a son of his own. We became an official family a little over 3 years ago. My oldest, Nolan will be in the 3rd grade this year. He loves anything creative and enjoys playing sports. My youngest son, Henry, was just born at the beginning of June. He currently enjoys naps and swinging in his swing.

Ever since I was 5 years old, I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. When I was in high school, I decided that I wanted to focus on students who needed the additional help with their learning. I began my college career at Armstrong State University, but decided to transfer to Georgia Southern University, as they offered a program that allowed to focus on special education with elementary grades. I graduated in Spring 2018, but decided to go back to receive my Master's in Special Education. I just recently finished this degree this past Summer. I am eager to take all the information I learned and help create a classroom that uplifts students and find ways to help them succeed in their learning.
