• Welcome to Sand Hill Elementary School's

Physical Education Kids

  •  Your child/ children will continue to have PE twice a week based on a 6-day schedule.  The day of the week will change, but the 6-day schedule will not.  Example: Your child's class has PE on Days 1 & 4.  Those days will not change.  The day of the week each one falls on will change weekly.  Teachers will have a monthly schedule posted in their classrooms for students to reference.  Lower grade level teachers will help you keep track via weekly News Letters.  It sounds a little confusing at first, but it will get easier, I promise.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO DO HIS/ HER BEST IN PE AND TO ALWAYS WEAR TENNIS SHOES ON PE DAYS!  I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. LOTS OF FALLS, MISHAPS AND INJURIES CAN BE AVOIDED BY WEARING TENNIS SHOES INSTEAD OF BOOTS, CROCS, SANDALS, HEALED SHOES OR SHOES WITHOUT THE SUPPORT NEEDED FOR VIGOROUS ACTIVITY.

Anytime there has been an injury or sickness which may prevent participation in PE, please send a note with your child explaining the situation.  Anything requiring more than 3 school days of excused nonparticipation MUST come from a medical doctor and be dated as such.

We are looking forward to seeing your little Hornet and please email me beckierush@effingham.k12.ga.us if you have any questions or concerns.  You may also call the front office to leave a message.
