• Meaningful Instruction + Teamwork = Student Success

Springfield Elementary School (SES) is recognized as a Title I Distinguished School. The caring, dedicated staff members focus on providing meaningful instruction for every child, every day. A well-developed curriculum and instructional plan is the foundation of the successful academic program. Staff members have high expectations for all students. The instructional plan is data driven and allows for differentiation for all students.

Springfield Elementary provides an accelerated Gifted & Talented (GT) program in 1st – 5th grades. Students are served by the GT certified classroom teacher as well as a resourced GT teacher.  SES also provides an Early Intervention Program (EIP) for Kindergarten – 5th grade students. In addition, three Reading Recovery teachers provide one-on-one reading instruction for qualifying first grade students. The Reading Recovery teachers also assist with small group instruction in first and second grades. In addition to early intervention resources, SES provides quality special education programs for students qualifying for additional services. SES also receives services from an intervention team that provides one-on-one tutoring for qualifying students. SES is dedicated to ensuring that all students make academic gains throughout the school year.

In addition to quality instruction, SES provides advanced technology classrooms. The students also benefit from a computer lab and chromebooks for students in each classroom. Agriculture is offered as a Specials class for all K-5th students. Active learning and advanced technology classrooms increase motivation and participation to ensure that all students are actively engaged in the learning process.

SES is fortunate to have excellent art, music and P.E. programs. An engaging media program and a supportive counseling program are also valued at SES. The students participate in Math Challenges, the SES Spelling BEE, and many Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) sponsored events. Many students participate in the 4th & 5th grade Honor’s Chorus, 5th grade BETA Club, 4-H Club, and Art Shows. Students also enjoy Field Day, Book Fair, Book Parade, Talent Shows, and various exciting activities and field trips.

SES is proud of the quality programs that are provided for all students. However, the true heart of the school is the loving, dedicated staff members that work each day to encourage and engage the students. At SES, all staff members focus on the students’ social and emotional growth and provide assistance for families in need of special services or supplies. The staff’s outreach certainly goes beyond the academic needs of students.

Springfield Elementary School is very proud of the wonderful students and parents that work in partnership with our staff. SES values the support of parents and community members. An amazing PTO and a vital School Council provide additional insight that helps guide the focus of the school program. This commitment to teamwork ensures that the educational program at SES will continue to challenge and enrich all students. The students, staff members, and parents are proud to belong to the Springfield Bulldog family!
