Greetings to the SEHS Mustang Nation!
My name is Dr. Torian White, and I am a 1999 SEHS graduate. I am humbled and excited to serve as principal of our beloved alma mater. Before returning to my hometown, I earned a B.S.Ed. in Mathematics Education from The University of Georgia, an M.Ed. in Social Foundations of Education from Troy University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University. As we enter year four as an SEHS family, we are ready to embark upon the 2022-23 school year with an emphasis on the power of connection. I am proud to lead a talented, caring, and competent faculty and staff who collaborate for student success - which looks different for each student. At SEHS, we are committed to ensuring 100% of our students graduate ready to be employed in their selected field, enlisted in our Nation's military, or enrolled at a college, university, or technical school. Through positive relationships, I am certain that our collaboration with students and parents will allow our students to discover their unique gifts and talents as they move toward their goals.
As an educator, I have served as high school mathematics teacher, graduation coach, and assistant principal, as well as middle school principal in two districts. In each of these opportunities, I have forged meaningful relationships with my students, teachers, counselors, coaches, media staff, office team members, paraprofessionals, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus drivers, parents, and administrators. At SEHS, I am excited to collaborate with each of these team members, while maintaining a rigorous, safe academic environment, building relationships, and helping our students to connect their future aspirations to their daily decisions.
Whether our students excel in the arts, athletics, academics, or club, there is a place for each student in our school.
