• The name came from a prep program that we offer our graduating seniors who are looking to enter the workforce. The program is called the Workforce PhD Program

• Brandon Davis was the maintenance coordinator for the Effingham County School District until his untimely and tragic death this past January. Brandon came up through our Career Tech programs here in Effingham County School District, participated in WBL (Work Based Learning) with our school system as a junior and senior.  After graduation he started with the ECSD maintenance dept. where he continued to work his way up through the ranks until he became Maintenance Coordinator.  He was a real example of what a Workforce PhD student encompasses.
• Scholarship was funded by family, friends, local contractors and the IDA
• We are not disclosing the amount of the scholarship at this time or the amount given to students because we are still trying to build the fund.  Our hope is that we will continue to get donations to support the scholarship for years to come.
• We have chosen four seniors that; completed all requirements of the Workforce PhD program, submitted an exceptional resume, and completed other requirements during the program.  Two from ECHS and two from SEHS. The students will receive these scholarships during class night.  The scholarship is intended to give the students a boost into the workforce to help pay for additional certifications, dress code requirements, tools and other needs to get started in a career.

Everyone loved Brandon and he is missed everyday.  We hope this scholarship will help keep his legacy alive, give students encouragement as they enter the workforce, and help everyone always remember how Brandon gave his all to this school system and his family.
