  • What's happening this week at ECCA!

    Good evening, ECCA Knights! This is Dr. Nesmith with what is happening at ECCA for the week of March 20-24, 2023

    • Chick Fil A Chicken Biscuits will be sold every Wednesday for $4. You can pay by cash or credit card.  Please support our school's clubs/organizations.

    • Congratulations to house Viribus! They won this week's March Madness Composting Challenge. All students and staff in the Viribus  House can dress down on Wednesday, March 22. Please follow the county's policy for dress code.

    • STEM Student Reminder - Our program does not participate in base school dress-down days. We have our own STEM dress-downs to celebrate events, fundraise for clubs, or support causes. 

    • Parents, Help us FILL THE WALLS with GREEN AND GOLD to Support CURE Childhood Cancer through our CLOVERS for CURE Campaign! We need to raise $2500 total.  You can help by Purchasing Green Clovers for $1 or Gold Clovers for $5. Write a message in Honor or in Memory of a friend or loved one affected by Childhood Cancer!   Students earn House points for every dollar donated. The house that earns the most by March 24th wins a Dress Down day and extra house points!   Volunteers are needed to help sell Clovers during each lunch. Students can earn community service time to help out!  Students signup in the Grade Level Google Classroom! 

    • MARCH MADNESS includes scholarships and fee waivers!  Seniors- there are several new local scholarships available that have been posted to the Senior Google classroom.  They have a deadline of 3/31.  Don't miss out! 

    • Save the date…ECCA STEMposium is April 20th. Scientific Research I, II, and III will present their projects to judges and community members.

    • Honey Ridge Spring Fling is Saturday, March 25th, from 10 AM -1 PM. Egg Hunt at 11:30. Come join the fun!

    • ECCA is having our 3rd  annual Family Bingo Night this Tuesday, March 21st, from 5:30-7:00 in the ECCA cafeteria. Students are encouraged to bring friends and family for this night of prizes, food, Bingo, and fun. Bingo boards are $2 each or you may choose the family/friends package that includes a pizza, 4 drinks, and 4 boards for $20. Tickets are on sale during lunch.     • Parents, pre-order your uniforms now for the 2023-2024 school year. The pre-order sale will run through Wednesday, April 12 at 2:30PM. Your order will be available for pickup at our uniform sale night in July or at Open House. Pre-order here: https://www.effinghamschools.com/Domain/3535

    • ECCA is taking applications for our 3rd year of the STEM Ambassador Program. The STEM Ambassadors are a group of students who are involved in representing our school for all formal, social, and promotion events for ECCA STEM. Students chosen as a STEM Ambassador will lead school tours, visit elementary and middle schools to promote our program, and help with school improvement. If you are outspoken, comfortable with talking in front of groups, and would like to add a leadership position to your resume, apply for the STEM Ambassador Program. Current STEM Ambassadors must also reapply. Check out the flyers around the building or see Ms. Hobbs or Dr. Nesmith for more information.     • Rising juniors and seniors~

      •  Work Based Learning - Have you ever thought about working in your STEM area and earning course credit? If so, work-based learning may be for you!  If interested, contact Laura Griffin if your base school is ECHS or Veronica Smith if your base school is SEHS.

      • Dual Enrollment - Are you planning on taking Dual Enrollment classes next year?  If so, you and a parent/guardian must attend one of our County Contract Meetings.  Our next virtual events will be on Tuesday, March 28 at 5:30 pm and Wednesday, 4/12 at 5:30pm.  Be sure to sign up on Google classroom and see Ms. Nave with questions.

    • Seniors!  Have you picked up your Class of 2023 yard sign from Ms. Nave?  What about your cap and gown?  If you or a parent/guardian did not pick them up at your base school last week, please stop by Ms. Nave's office to do so.

    • STEM students start planning for our trip in November of 2023.  We will be going to Universal Studios on November 3 - 4 where we will be doing a fun and exciting educational program.  Go to www.kellytours.com and enter trip number 17070.  Spots are limited, so sign up early.

    • If you need to request a certificate of enrollment for a driver's license, please sign up at the front office. The cost is $5, cash or check. 

    • BETA Club students who participated in the Butter Braids fundraiser, please remember the pick up will be March 30 at 6pm. You MUST pick up that night, since we do NOT have areas to store your Butter Braids. More information about pick-up will be provided on REMIND.

    • Students, as a reminder, school begins at 7:30.  This is what time you are to be in your zero period classroom.  For student drivers, please do not hang out in the parking lot and lose track of time.  Once you arrive at school, you should proceed on into the building to begin your day.
