Board to Discuss Fiscal Year 2026 Budget

The Effingham County Board of Education will discuss its Fiscal Year 2026 budget during their regularly scheduled meetings beginning March 20 and concluding with an approved budget on June 19, 2025.

This is the planned schedule for the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget discussions:

  • March 20 Meeting @ 7pm: Review historical budget book (FY2020 – FY2025).
  • April 2 Meeting @ 2pm: Review General Fund operating expenses
  • April 24 Meeting @ 7pm: Review General Fund operating expenses
  • May 7 Meeting @ 2pm: Review General Fund revenues and present tentative budget.
  • May 15 Meeting @ 7pm: Discuss any questions or feedback
  • June 4 Meeting @ 2pm: Discuss any questions or feedback
  • June 19 Meeting @ 7pm: Discuss any questions or feedback and adopt the final budget.

These meetings are open to the public and are held in the board room of the district’s Central Office, located at 405 N. Ash St. in Springfield. Items up for discussion are pre-approved before each meeting. If you would like permission to speak at a board meeting, you must be placed on the agenda. In order to be placed on the agenda, you must speak with the Superintendent’s office. Any agenda item must be posted 48 hours prior to the meeting.
