Public Hearing Announcements

The Effingham County Board of Education will discuss its Fiscal Year 2027 budget during their regularly scheduled meetings beginning April 8 and concluding with an approved budget on June 18, 2026.

This is the planned schedule for the Fiscal Year 2027 Budget discussions:

  • June 3 Meeting @ 2pm:  Budget Hearing #1 and discuss any questions or feedback.
  • June 18 Meeting @ 7pm:  Budget Hearing #2 and adopt the Original FY27 budget.

These meetings are open to the public and are held in the board room of the district’s Central Office, located at 405 N. Ash St. in Springfield. Items up for discussion are pre-approved before each meeting. If you would like permission to speak at a board meeting, you must be placed on the agenda. In order to be placed on the agenda, you must speak with the Superintendent’s office. Any agenda item must be posted 48 hours prior to the meeting.

House Bill 139 requires the aggregation and publication of a variety of financial information for all school districts, such as revenue and expenditure data, capital construction costs, recent audits, and similar reports. All of the information on this site consists of data and other information in which the Georgia Department of Education already collects and in most cases published in some existing form, or which is collected and published by another department within state government such as the Department of Audits and Accounts. The website linked below is the required centralization of this information into a single website.

Georgia DOAA

The Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts audits the financial statements of the Effingham County Board of Education on an annual basis.  The audit is conducted in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States.  Those standards require that the audit team plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free from material misstatement.  The audit evidence must be sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for the audit opinion.
