District Accreditation

On January 31 – February 4, 2021, the Effingham County School District earned system-wide accreditation after undergoing a rigorous review process with Cognia (formerly AdvancED). Cognia is a non-profit, international accrediting agency that works with Pre-K through grade 12 schools to improve learning, teaching, and leadership through on-site and virtual reviews.

The Effingham County School District is proud to maintain full accreditation status for the next five years (through February 2026). The accreditation review provided aligned and proven pathways for addressing challenges and supporting district and school leaders, teachers, and stakeholders.
