I have been teaching in Effingham County since 2001. I joined the staff at Marlow in 2015, and I quickly learned it's great to be a Mustang!
I married my husand Alton in 2014. Together we have 3 sons and 1 daughter. I inherited 6 precious grandchildren who call me, "Grammy"! Our family attends Compassion Christian Church. I love helping in women's ministry, and coffee shop.
In addition to teaching I also enjoy fishing, bike riding, RV camping, kayaking and most anything outdoors. I especially love the beach and Disney World.
My philosophy for education is that all children can learn, but don't all learn the same way or at the same pace. I aim to provide meaningful differentiated-instruction in a nurturing and fun environment.
I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in education in 1997. Since then I have also earned my Master's degree and Educational Specialist degree.
One of my favorite things to say to my students is, "I am not smarter than you, I'm just older and have had more practice." Everybody has something to contribute to our class and our school.
