Hello Parents!
First of all, I would like to welcome you and your child to the 2020-2021 school year! I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with your child and make this year a productive experience for us all. My personal belief is that every child can be successful given the best possible opportunity. I believe this opportunity is when parents and teachers work in a uniform manner to achieve success. Now, that you know my personal teaching belief please take some time to read my biography and get to know me better, too.
I am a long-time resident of Effingham County. I grew up in Rincon, moved to Clyo, and graduated from Effingham County High School. Currently, I live here in Guyton with my husband of 17 years and my own 6th grader, Lucas. I enjoy Yoga, spending time at the beach and the mountains, and just having family time!
I have taught here at Guyton Elementary for the past 23 years, and this will be my 25th year teaching. My teaching career started at South Effingham Middle School back in 1997 where I taught sixth grade for two years. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a teaching degree in grades 4-8 with a concentration in all content areas. I have currently received my specialist degree in Curriculum and Leadership. My future aspiration is to stay in the classroom and work closely with college students that will be entering into the field of education and maybe teach some online college classes. I would also like an opportunity to serve as a member of the teaching community in the reconstruction of standardized testing.
