Troy Alford grew up on the Westside in Port Wentworth, Georgia with his parents Jim and Jane Alford and two siblings. He is a graduate of Robert W. Groves High School (Scottish Rebels). Troy played football for the West Georgia Braves for 2 years. After leaving West Georgia, Troy got his start in the Automotive Business Industry and hasn’t looked back! He currently works at Dan Vaden Chevrolet on Abercorn Street in Savannah Georgia.
Troy married his highschool sweetheart in 1985. His wife Becky was a household engineer for 20 years and then in 2009 began working at SEHS as a Media Specialist. Troy and Becky have 4 children that all graduated from South Effingham High School. They are Garrett (Chrissy), Judd (Dr. Bailey), Caroline (Tim) and Spencer. Judd is a Spanish teacher and Caroline is a parapro at SEHS. Troy and his family have been residents of Effingham for 30 years. They are members of their "home" church Garden City United Methodist where Troy has served as Sunday School Superintendent as well as many other jobs.
Troy's biggest joys in life at this time are his four beautiful grandchildren. His two oldest, Roman and Owen, attend school here in Effingham. Fallon and Claire are his queen and princess. Troy also enjoys hunting with his "best Friend" Bella.
Troy was the voice of the Mustangs for 14 years where he loved to help our football team "move those chains". He is also a member of the Savannah Quarterback Club. He has served on our School Board for 16 years and has just been re-elected. Thank You Troy Alford for the care you have for our students and staff in Effingham County!
