    DUAL ENROLLMENT

    Through the Dual Enrollment program, students can earn high school credit AND college credit simultaneously.  Academic and pathway courses are available through Dual Enrollment—to include Welding, Cosmetology, and Aircraft Assembly.  We currently have Dual Enrollment students at Georgia Southern University, Armstrong State University, East Georgia State College, and Savannah Technical College.

    The Dual Enrollment process must be completed no later than April 14, 2023 to participate in the Dual Enrollment program for the 2023-2024 school year. 

    If you have not completed ALL of these steps by April 14, you will not be permitted to participate in the Dual Enrollment program for the 2023-2024 school year.

    Dual Enrollment students earn both high school credit and college credit for college courses completed.  Academic and CTAE pathway courses are available through Dual Enrollment — to include Welding, Cosmetology, and Aircraft Assembly.  Dual Enrollment opportunities are available at several post-secondary institutions.

    Steps to complete for Dual Enrollment: Completion Dates
    1.  Apply to the post-secondary institution (college) and designate on your application that you intend to be a Dual Enrolled student.  10/25/2022 - 3/10/2023
    2.  Contact the ECHS Registrar and request an official transcript to be sent to the post-secondary institution (college). 10/25/2022 - 3/10/2023
    3.  Complete the required admission tests (ACT, SAT, Accuplacer).  Go to the ECHS website to sign up for the Accuplacer (link found under Family and Students tab) or contact the post-secondary institution (college) and schedule a date to take the Accuplacer on the college campus. 11/5/2022 - 2/11/2023
    4.  Log on to www.GAfutures.org , create an account and complete the online Dual Enrollment Funding Application recorded instructions for completing the application can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UoBFlfsNSU&feature=youtu.be 02/01/2023 - 3/10/2023
    5.  As soon as you receive notification from the college that you have been accepted, provide proof of admittance to the 10th or 11th Grade Counselor. 11/1/2022 - 3/31/2023
    6.  Student and parent/guardian must meet with the ECHS counselor to complete the Effingham County Dual Enrollment contract. 2/27/2023 - 4/11/2023
    7.  Meet with the college advisor to set your college schedule. 
    This meeting should occur immediately after completing step #6
    2/27/2023 - 4/14/2023
    8.  Provide a copy of your post-secondary schedule to ECHS counselor. On or before 04/14/2023

    ALL of the steps listed above must be completed no later than April 14, 2023 in order to participate in the Dual Enrollment program for the 2023 - 2024 school year.  Failure to complete all of these steps by April 14, 2023 will result in you not participating in the Dual Enrollment program for the 2023-2024 school year.
