Welcome to 4th Grade!!
I am so excited to work with you and your child this year in Language Arts & Reading. I am very passionate about cultivating a love of reading with my students. I love to read, I have taught my own children to love to read, and I am just as compelled to ensure that my students love to read.
A little about me:
I am married to a wonderful man, James, and we have two children. Preston is 17 years old and a senior at SEHS. Ella is 10 years old and in 5th grade here at SEES.
I started my teaching career in Chatham County fifteen years ago. Shortly after starting my career, I decided that I wanted to further my education and obtained my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. Ten years ago, I was fortunate enough to join the South Effingham Elementary family. There is no better place to call home than this school. SEES has inspired me to become the best teacher that I can be. Every morning, when I walk into my classroom, I am given the opportunity to shape the minds of my students. Their openness and enthusiasm to learn and the support of the staff here at SEES are the driving force behind why I love my job. My family and I are so blessed to be a part of this amazing school and school system.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy (of course) reading, spending time at the pool and/or beach, watching movies, and just spending time with my family. My parents and one of my sisters live right here in Effingham, so spending quality time with my family is always at the top of my list.
