• Friday February 18th - 8:00 a.m. - Release School Choice Option for students affected by Redistricting. (online application)
• School Choice (Redistricted Students Only) Window - Feb 18th - March 13th
• Mail School Choice Letters (Redistricted Students Only) - March 17th

Current students in grades PreK - 4 who have been redistricted to another elementary school can remain at their current school through the School Choice option. Bus service is not provided to students attending a school through School Choice. Families would be required to provide transportation. 

We cannot guarantee enrollment into a school that is outside of the zoned district.  If there is available space, we always allow for School Choice in the spring. 

The Annual School Choice Window for the 2022-2023 school year is April 4th - 29th.

If your preferred school was not available for School Choice, you may put in a hardship request to be reviewed at the end of the summer. The Hardship schedule is as follows:

• Thursday May 26th - Begin Accepting Hardship (School Choice)
  
  
• Monday July 11th - Review School Choice Hardships

Students who attend a school outside of their zone do not receive school bus services. If your after school program relies on a school bus to transport your student, your student will not be assigned to that bus. They will need an alternate form of transportation.

We do have LEAP and YMCA afterschool onsite programs at our elementary schools:

South Effingham - YMCA
Springfield -  YMCA

If a student is already at a school on school choice, they do not need to complete any paperwork to remain at the school.

We are not redistricting middle or high schools at this time. We plan to build a new middle school behind RES in the next 5 years.
