• Flu season is almost here!  The BEST protection against the influenza virus is immunization.  You will be receiving a flu information letter and parent permission form.  Please look for this two sided form in your child's book bag and read carefully.  If you wish for your child to be immunized at the in-school clinics, please read, complete the permission form, and return to the school nurse no later than Tuesday October 19th.

If you do NOT wish for your child to be immunized, do NOT return the form.

Our public health department will once again provide the flu vaccine clinics in each school. Clinics will be held the week of October 25th- Nov 3rd, 2021. Please check with your school for the specific date. ONLY the injectable (shot) vaccine is available for administration. The CDC recommends flu vaccine for all persons over 6 months of age. Flu vaccines not only provide the best protection, it helps reduce absences from school and work.

For more information about the flu vaccine or additional forms please visit our school system web site at www.effinghamschools.com

For questions, contact your school nurse or the Effingham County Health department at 912-754-6484.

Remember, all forms must be received no later than Tuesday October 19th.

We encourage you to participate in this valuable program to protect your child!
