Mr. Neal Bright

Neal Bright is currently the Director of Bands at Effingham County Middle School in Springfield, GA. A graduate of Effingham County High School, he holds a Master’s of Music Education from Vandercook College of Music and Bachelor’s of Music Education degree with an emphasis on percussion from Georgia Southern University. While at GSU, he was a drumline instructor for the Southern Pride Marching Band as well as the GSU Indoor Drumline, which earned 3rd place at the Percussive Art Society International Convention. Throughout his career he has participated, instructed and written for some of the top groups in the world. Neal was the Co-Captain for the Atlanta Quest Independent World drumline its first two years in existence, and now serves as a Battery Tech. He also marched on the tenor line for the 2008 DCA Class A World Champion and High Percussion winner, Alliance Drum and Bugle Corps.  His 2009 Scholastic A indoor Drumline won the title of 2009 SAPA Champions; also earning 14th place and a Semi-finalist at WGI World Championships. The North Paulding High School Indoor Drumline earned 3rd place and a podium spot at the 2017 WGI Spartanburg Regional. The various groups that he instructs and writes for consistently receive outstanding ratings in competition. In his tenure at Sammy McClure Middle School (Dallas, GA), the SMMS Symphonic Band was invited to perform at the 2017 New York Music Invitational at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. During his time at Carrollton High School the Marching Trojan Band was invited to perform in the Hollywood Christmas Parade, in Hollywood, California and the Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the SEUS Honor Band Clinic at Troy University. Mr. Bright is The Director of Indoor Percussion for Countermotion Inc. He also writes percussion music for the original marching shows put out by Countermotion. He is a Vic Firth Education and Dynasty USA Artist. In his free time Mr. Bright plays drums for the Savannah Bananas baseball team and Compassion Christian Church.

Ms. Kristen Watts

Ms. Watts is currently in her fifth year teaching at ECMS. Originally from McDonough, GA, she currently lives in Statesboro, GA. Ms. Watts holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education and Masters of Music in Flute Performance from Georgia Southern University.
