View due dates and events in a calendar
This article is for students.
For each class, you share a Classroom calendar and a Google Calendar with your teacher and classmates. Only items with due dates appear in these calendars. If you can’t access Google Calendar, your G Suite administrator might have turned it off for your account.
What can you do with each calendar?
Google Calendar (any device) Classroom calendar (computer only) - View classwork due dates
- View class events
- Add personal reminders that only you see
- Add events, such as study sessions
Note: Anything you add won’t show in the Classroom calendar.

View items in your calendars
You can see your items in the Classroom calendar and your Google Calendar on the dates that they’re due.
View due dates in your Classroom calendar
In the Classroom calendar, you can see classwork due dates from all your classes for the week. You can't add any items. Guardians who get email summaries can’t see your Classroom calendar.

Go to classroom.google.com.
- At the top, click Menu
Calendar.

Choose an option:
- To see past or future work, next to the date, click Back
or Next
.
- To see assignments for one class, click All classes
- To see past or future work, next to the date, click Back
- (Optional) To open classwork, click an assignment or question.
View due dates and events in your Google Calendar
In your Google Calendar, you can find all your class calendars. Guardians can’t see anything in Google Calendar unless you share a calendar with them.-
Go to classroom.google.com.
- Click the class
- At the top, click Google Calendar
.
- For details, click an item.
- (Optional) To see or hide other class calendars, on the left, under Other calendars, check or uncheck the box next to a class.
Add items to your Google Calendar
Add a personal reminder
You can add a personal reminder, such as a note to remember your calculator.- Go to classroom.google.com.
- Click the class
- At the top, click Google Calendar
- For more instructions, go to Add reminders in Google Calendar.
Add an event
You can add events, such as a study session, and invite classmates. Anything you add in Google Calendar won't show in the Classroom calendar.- Go to classroom.google.com.
- Click the class
- Click Google Calendar
- For more instructions, go to Create an event.

View Classroom items in Google Calendar
Your mobile device only shows your Google Calendar, not the Classroom calendar.
Before you begin: You can synchronize Google Calendar on your mobile device to use it with the Classroom mobile app. For details, go to Sync Calendar with a phone or tablet.
