Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Brittany Alao

Greetings & welcome to my page! My name is Mrs. Alao. Most people mispronounce it at first, but it is quite simple. It is prounounced "allow".  Now, "allow" me to introduce myself. I began teaching at Effingham County Middle School as a Social Studies teacher during the 2018-2019 school year. From that time up until the early part of the 2020-2021 school year, I have taught 7th Grade Social Studies  which I greatly enjoy!  I love learning about history and culture. It is an even greater joy to teach about them. This year, I have moved from being a traditional teacher to being a virtual teacher. This is definitely a new adventure and unchartered territory for many of us. This school year,  I am co-teaching with several teachers. These areas include 6th & 7th grade Science as well as 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Social Studies.

I am a native of Statesboro, Georgia. I have been married for 3 years to my amazing husband, JP. I am a 2011 graduate of Augusta State University where I received a Bachelor's of Business in Marketing, and I recently received my Masters degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southern University in May of 2020.  Some of the things I enjoy doing most are reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family. One of the most valuable lessons I want each student to learn is to never be afraid to go after your goals and ambitions no matter if they may seem unreachable or far-fetched to others. One of the proudest moments I have ever had was achieving my childhood dream of being on a game show. This is proof, that you just have to believe and do the work to achieve whatever you set out to do. All in all, I really enjoy teaching for the Effingham County School district, and  I hope that we have a successful school year despite all of the uncertainty and new challenges we are facing!
