• welcome Mrs. Lesa Couey

Hello! My name is Lesa Couey.  I am very excited  to be your child's teacher. I always love getting to know my students and their families.

After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1988, I began teaching 1st grade at Springfield Elementary. I transferred to Ebenezer Elementary when it opened in 1995. I served as Ebenezer's Teacher of the Year  for the 1996-1997 school term.  In 2001, I wanted to become more proficient in teaching reading. I attended Georgia State University  and earned my Reading Endorsement while training to become a Reading Recovery Teacher. I served as a  Reading Recovery Teacher for five years but ultimately missed having my "own little family"! So that's  when I decided it was time for me to return to the classroom.

I absolutely "LOVE" teaching and am so excited about our school year. Even though this is my 32nd year teaching, I always get anxious, nervous, jittery, and excited like it's my first! My husband, Tim, has been with me every step of the way throughout my career. He's my rock and the love of my life. We love to travel, spend time at the beach, and enjoy our friends and family.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year and much success for your child.

    Sincerely,
    Lesa Couey
