What does AutoCrat do?
Overview
Autocrat is a multi-purpose document merge tool that allows you to take data from a spreadsheet and merge it into a document via a template. Tell Autocrat which fields to merge via <<merge tags>> and then let Autocrat mass-generate personalized files such as Docs and Sheets.

How I use AutoCrat for Chromebook Collections
We use AutoCrat to pre-print all of the check-in forms.
The paper form includes:- Student's name
- Username
- Device Number
- Serial Number
- Barcode
- The number at the top (9-1) tells me that the student is in 9th grade and, alphabetically, they are the first person in the class.
- The (A) tells me that the student's last name starts with the letter A
- The student checks-in first with a student technician to obtain their form
- They take their form and their Chromebook over to the check-in desk
- The check-in technician then reviews the Chromebook, fills out the form, places the form inside the Chromebook and then hands it to the sorting techs
- The sorting techs then put all the Chromebooks in alphabetical order by grade level
- Our students get the same Chromebook back when they come back the following year.
- Paper Forms
- The check-in tech then fills out this form
- We used to send the student the following PDF receipt but we stopped. When asked the students said they didn't want it.
