Cheryl Zettler, Assistant Principal

Welcome to Ebenezer...Home of the Eagles!  I am proud to say that I have been a part of the Ebenezer Family for 19 years.  I have 26 years experience in education.  I started my career as a high school math teacher in Liberty County.  After working there for 3 years, I made my way to South Effingham High School in 1996.  After teaching high school math for 5 years, I started a new job as a school counselor.  For the last 21 years, I have worked in that role to build relationships with students, teachers, and parents. I earned my Bachelor's degree from The University of Georgia in 1993.  I went on to pursue a Master's and a Specialist Degree from Georgia Southern University in 1996 and 2003 respectively.  I have gained a tremendous amount of experience working in elementary, middle, and high school, but I have found that there is nothing like working at the elementary level where early learning takes place. We get to see children grow so much while they are here.   I have so much love and respect for our teachers and staff, and I hope that you will love them as much as I do!

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My husband and I have 2 children.  Larson is 21 and attends Georgia Southern University.  His major is Biology and he plans to attend Medical School in 2020.  Sydney is 16 and is a dual enrollment student at GSU and she will graduate in 2021.  We enjoy the outdoors, but we especially love boating and traveling to warm places.  We also have a fur baby, CiCi, who is a big part of our family.

I sincerely hope that your child has a wonderful year at EES.  We have a very positive and warm climate, and we LOVE our students!
