    Eric Dixon - RB

    Coach Dixion

      Eric Dixon is entering his fifth season as an offensive assistant coach of the Effingham County Football Staff. During his first season on the staff, Dixon coached the offense line. Since his first season, Coach Dixon progressed to coach the running backs. He emphasizes on having an explosive running attack that sets a physical tone for each game from start to finish. Eric Dixon is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BS in Middle Grades Teacher Education in Science and Mathematics (2009) and is happily married for six years to his beautiful wife LaDonna Dixon.

     

    Chris Johnson - Special Team Coor. / QB

     Chris Johnson

    Coach Johnson is entering his 2nd year on the Rebel Football Coaching Staff. He handles the Offensive Line and is the Special Teams Coordinator for the Rebels. This is Coach Johnsoin's second season as head coach of Effingham Baseball.  He is in his 30th year as a teacher and coach. His experiences include being a Head Baseball coach for 12 years and 5 years as a Head Football coach.  Coach Johnson's family includes wife Debbie, sons Luke and Jake, step-son Josh Moody, and step-daugters Taylor and Michaela Moody. Coach Johnson and his staff led the Rebel Baseball Team to the Semifinals in 6A eventually losing to the 6A State Champions Heritage Patriots in 3 games in the Spring of 2019.

    Coach C

    Coach Austin Czachowski, more commonly known to the players as Coach C is in his 6th year coaching and first year as the passing game coordinator and recruiting coordinator. . Beginning his coaching career in 2014 at ECHS as the wide receiver coach Coach C worked for two seasons with the Rebels. He then spent a year at Georgia Southern University working as a offensive analyst and helping recruit players. After one season in Statesboro Coach C worked as the offensive coordinator for the semi-pro East Georgia Force. After spending a season with the Force Coach C returned to ECHS in 2017. When asked why he wants to coach, he describes a mix of his childhood dream and being able to be a positive influence for young men. Coach C’s outlook for the 2018 season is lots of production from the receiving corps and the offense. He is recently married to his wife Stephanie and they expect their first child in January. 

     

    Jefferey Lonon - TE

    I started at Effingham County High School as a freshman in 1981 and graduated in 1985. I played football for Bob Griffith, the winningest coach in Effingham football history. He also allowed me to volunteer coach will I attended Armstrong State College. I was a volunteer coach on the team that played for a State Championship in 1987 against Morrow.

    I have been a coach at Effingham for the last nine years, the first two under Coach Rick Tomberlin and the last seven under Coach Buddy Holder. I have the job of coaching the tight ends. We have a good group of young men that work very hard. I enjoy coaching these young men trying to push them to be the best student and athlete they can be.

    I was born and raised in Effingham County. I have been married for twenty two years to Vanessa Wallace-Lonon. We have two children, Olivia and JR Lonon. We also have two granddaughters, Natalie and Naomi. JR Lonon is a Freshmen Southern Weslyan University in Central South Carolina.

     

     

     

     Lynon Jefferson - Slots

    This 2019 season marks Coach Lynon Jefferson's 8th year as an Effingham County Football Coach. As expected, he is extremely excited for what is to come for this upcoming season. You could say that sports has always been a part of his DNA. Coach Jefferson began his football career at Effingham County Middle School and continued on at Effingham County High School. He was a standout in football and in track, and was awarded a full scholarship to attend Georgia Southern University. At "The Real" GSU, he received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and later attend Armstrong State University to complete his Master's degree in Special Education. He is currently a Special Education Teacher as well as Department Head here at Effingham County High School. Coach Jefferson married his wife, Monica Jefferson, in April of 2018 and recently had a son, Aiden Myles Jefferson, in March of 2019. 

     

    Chris Garcia - LB

    Coach Garcia

    Coach Garcia is entering his 13th year coaching. He played Football and Basketball for ECHS from 1997-2001. He started coaching at ECMS in 2006 where he coached Football, Basketball and Baseball and moved to ECHS in 2016. He has been a defensive assistant coaching linebackers for the last 4 years. He is married to his wife Amanda Garcia and they have 2 wonderful kids Zach Garcia and Aiden Garcia. Zach is a Junior on the Rebel Football Team and Aiden plays for the Panthers!
