Lieutenant Colonel Andrew S.R. Wichers has been a SASI for ten years and currently is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) for the Effingham County High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC). He had a distinguished career in the private sector and as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, serving a total of 23 years both on active duty and in the Georgia Air National Guard. He has experience in the following industries: education, workforce development, telecommunications and manufacturing. He held the positions of Risk Control Advocate and Human Resources Consultant with the Georgia School Boards Association (www.GSBA.com); Senior Manager, T-Mobile National Handset Repair and Distribution Center (www.t-mobile.com), and various senior management positions with Boral Industries, a focused international Building and Construction materials supplier (www.boral.com.au/).
Colonel Wichers has a BA in Political Science from the University of North Georgia, a Masters in International Relations from Troy University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Auburn University. He is a Certified Mediator, Certified Practitioner of the Myers- Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) as recognized by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). He is also rated fluent in French, German, Dutch and Spanish and is conversant in Arabic. He has been married to his wife Elizabeth for 35 years. He has a grown daughter, Shannon, who is married to a West Point graduate, and a son, Judson, who is a C-130 Load Master in the Georgia Air National Guard. He has two grandsons.
