Google has moved into our schools in Effingham County! All students have their own Google Accounts. They have access to Gmail, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Classroom, just to name a few apps. In most of the Middle and High Schools in Effingham County, assignments are routinely created for students in the Google Classroom App. In order to prepare our students for Middle School, Fourth and Fifth Grade students have to complete assignments in Google Classroom every 9 weeks for Mrs. Rippey. Some are Google Docs Assignments, which is a basic word processing app. Other assignments include Google Slides presentations, which is Google's version of the Microsoft PowerPoint Program. Third Grade students also practice logging in to their Student Google Accounts in the Technology Lab.
Additionally, all students in Grades 3-5 have to log in to the Performance Matters website in their classrooms using Chromebooks in order to take their Unit Tests in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. They have to log in to the Chromebooks using their Student Google Account information in order to take these required tests.
In order to log in to Google, students use the following formula:
For example, suppose a BES student named Sally Smith has a lunch number that is 12345. Here is how she would sign in to her school Google Account:
*Parents, ask your child to log in to their Student Google Account today so you can view all of their Google Assignments and papers! Logging in to Google Classroom would be a good place to start!
