Sand Hill Elementary, as part of the Effingham County School System, will be partnering with Effingham Health System to bring you

    Telemedicine!

Through this exciting and innovative program, our school will use a live video conference to connect to Effingham Health System Providers while still in school.

The school nurse will triage the student, arrange an appointment, there will be a Telemedicine Appointment, the physician can E-Prescribe medication and the visit summary can be printed or emailed directly to the parent.  Services will be billed through the child's insurance.

    Potential Benefits:

    Increased access to doctors

Decreased emergency room usage and hospitalizations for students

Increases attendance and GPA for students

Decreased drop out rates and school discipline referrals

Saves money, by providing health care for Medicaid, Peach Care and Private Insurance, Decreased ER visits, saves on travel time to pharmacy and time away from work for parents

The school will have cutting edge equipment such as a blue tooth stethoscope and camera that will connect directly to the Effingham Health System for visits.

The Telemedicine packet can be found on the school nurse page under "School Health Forms"
