Project SEARCH is a high school transition to work program for students with disabilities that takes place entirely at the workplace. Effingham County Project SEARCH serves students from Effingham County High School and South Effingham High School. Project SEARCH provides job training at Ebenezer Middle School with the support of an instructor and skills trainer from Effingham County School Systems, a job coach from B&B Services, and career guidance job coaching from Vocational Rehabilitation. Total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and relevant job skills training through strategically designed internships. The goal for each student in this program is competitive employment. The program provides real life work experiences combined with training in employability and independent living skills to help young adults with significant disabilities make successful transitions from school to productive adult life.
